AGM3

Last week on June 15th, Electrical Vehicle Council (hereinafter referred to as EVC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Canberra to discuss industry progress and further actions required to promote the uptake of EVs in Australia. With the growing attention electrical vehicle has been receiving in Australia, EVC successfully brought together the broad cross-section of Australian industries and stakeholders who have shared interest in the future of road transport.

Approximately 40 members attended who were briefed by Shane Rattenbury, the ACT minister for Climate Change and Sustainability, on the steps the ACT government had taken to implement their zero emission transport plan.  The primary focus of the event was to drive the EV agenda and educate decision makers about EV and arrive at a step change for the EV industry.

The Minister showed how low cost government policy can easily support the uptake of EV.

The EVC constituted as an organisation in September 2016 and is the main national industry body for EV.  It has seen its membership double over the last 12 months.  If you are interested to join, please contact EVC at http://electricvehiclecouncil.com.au.
